Well, The answer is, It depends upon many factors which you have to be focused parallel while building your website.
There are around 1 Billion websites currently active in the world as per a recent report and the count is getting changed every second. With this data, you can imagine now, how much content is available on a particular topic on the web.
Nowadays, Google is also playing a very smart role in crawling and indexing web pages in google search. It also continuously improves the search algorithms to figure out the best content for the user. You need to understand these tactics and implement the same for your website to improve its ranking.
Here, I would suggest you do a few SEO things and you will see the best result in 5 to 6 months.
1. Keyword Research
A keyword plays a vital role in SEO. You must remember that while writing a post on a particular topic, you much also think about high-quality keywords which is related to your blog and use them no of the time on the page. But make sure these keywords arrange naturally in your content, not like randomly putting keywords here and there.
2. Content
You must understand that your content must be unique, new, and high in quality. Use Images, Diagrams to explain things in detail. You must also use long-tail keywords in your post which makes your content value high. Blog content must be a problem solver, knowledgeable and interactive for the user. Instead of writing a long post such as 2000 to 3000 words, your post must be less in words but high in quality.

4. Meta Tag
Meta tag is another an important topic in SEO that people ignores most of the time. You must spend some amount of time preparing meta tags. Below the code snippet, you must add in between head tag.

The above code will look like the below in google search, whatever you put in the meta tag for the description attribute will appear as a description section. The description should be around 160 to 200 characters.
5. Google Search Console
You must use this tool provided by Google to analyze the website performance, and it's completely free. Most people ignore submitting their site in the Google Search Console tool and they thought that is why my side is not appearing in google. Using this tool you are informing Google that this is my website and you have to crawl and index my pages in the search engine.
6. HTTPS & Availability
Make sure your site is secure using an SSL certificate and available 24/7 everywhere.
7. Robots.txt
Make sure that all the page of your website is accessible by the Robots.txt file and that none of the pages is blocked by the file. This text file tells web robots (most often search engines) which pages on your site to crawl and It also tells web robots which pages not to crawl.
8. Website Load Time
You must also focus on the load time of your website. For this, you can use below free tool provided by Google to figure out the speed of each page of the website.

9. Mobile Friendly
Your site must be mobile-friendly because 70% of the time your website traffic comes from mobile. Hence, your website must be mobile-friendly and supportive for any device.
If you follow these basic guidelines, I’m dam sure your website performance will increase day by day and it will come on top searches. I know it takes a lot of time but you will see a good result in 5 to 6 months and that motivates you to move ahead.
